Power Rangers or Super Sentai

The Super Sentai Series (スーパー戦隊シリーズ Sūpā Sentai Shirīzu?) is the name given to the long running Japanese superhero team genre of shows produced by Toei Company Ltd., Toei Agency and Bandai, and aired by TV Asahi ("Super" refers to their use of mecha, and "sentai" is the Japanese word for "task force" or, literally, "fighting squadron" and was also a term used for Japanese squadrons in WWII). The shows are of the tokusatsu genre, featuring live action characters and colorful special effects, and are aimed mainly at children.

The US adaptation of this long running series is called Power Rangers. Just thought I would share this information for those of you who would be interested in knowing the origin of this show popular with children. Yes, I sort of like the Japanese versions of many of these shows better because the characters tend to struggle with sometimes complex issues and the message is typically always do what is right regardless of what those around you are doing but I do prefer the Kamen Rider Series over Super Sentai.
