TU Alumni Choir Info

February 20, 2009

Tuskegee Alumni Choir Members

c/o The Office of Continuing Education

Tuskegee University

Tuskegee Institute, Alabama 36088

Dearest Choir Members,

I hope and pray that your new year has begun with refreshment and renewed vigor. I, also, hope that your lives and families are continually Blessed!

Our next Group endeavor will occur during Founder’s Day Weekend for the Dawson Institute Concert. The Concert will be held Saturday, April 4, 2009 @ 7:00p.m. in the James Center.

The songs that the Alumni Choir will be presenting will be as follows:

“Hail Mary”(Dawson), “Lord, I Want To Be A Christian” (Moses Hogan) and “Ain-A-That Good News” (Dawson). The Finale, this year, will not be “Ev’rytime I Feel The Spirit”. It will be a composition by Rosephanye Powell entitled, “Non Nobis Domine”.  This is an unfamiliar song to the Alumni Choir and your Director. I am, currently, learning the song and all its vocal parts that we will be ready for our rehearsals. The bright side of this concern is that the Alumni Choir will not be the lone group presenting it.

Our attire for the occasion will be as follows:

LADIES:     White Blouses, Dark Skirts (Below the knee) or a solid White or Black Dress   (Below The Knees) and Dark Shoes.

GENTLEMEN:  Long-White Shirt, Dark Suits, Dark Stringed Ties and Dark Shoes.

Rehearsal Times are as follows:  Friday, April 3, 2009  9:00a.m. – 11:30a.m.  CHAPEL

                                                        Friday, April 3, 2009  6:00p.m. – 7:30p.m.    CHAPEL

                                                    Saturday, April 4, 2009  9:15a.m. – 11:30a.m.   CHAPEL

For those who have not been able join us, WE NEED YOUR PARTICIPATION! If you are in the Tuskegee, Montgomery, Columbus, Birmingham or Atlanta areas, we could certainly use  your help. This does not indicate that others who can come will not be welcomed and appreciated. Bottom Line is We Need You All! Call me @ (256) 430-3501 or e-mail me at kim.a.jones@nasa.gov.

That is all for now. I hope to be in contact again with you soon!

KA-O,

(Mr.) Kim A. Jones, Director,

Tuskegee Alumni Concert Choir
